Program Note

Maryland Ravens, Inc. offers numerous opportunities for physically challenged individuals to exhibit that they too possess meaningful contributions. For more than 25 years, our programs have benefited both disabled and non-disabled participants. We offer activities (such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair softball, and our youth/school outreach program) for the physically challenged which assists in building self-esteem, self-confidence, independence, and self-motivation.

In addition, we seize opportunities which provide us the means to educate the general public of the needs, abilities and capabilities of the physically challenged.

By visiting area schools and colleges, we are able to express or impress upon the students that "to be unable is not your blame, but to be capable yet not strive to achieve....is your blame....alone. Do your best....Strive for Success!" Lastly, our programs also provide the physically challenged individual with an opportunity for physical and personal growth.

If you are interested in having the Maryland Ravens' Disability Awareness Program visit your school, please refer our web site to school officials so that a member of their staff may contact us regarding our availability.
