Wheelchair Softball
Although wheelchair softball is just breaking ground on the east coast, Baltimore City's Department of Recreation and Parks/Therapeutic Division and the Maryland Ravens have assisted in supporting numerous teams which annually compete in the National Wheelchair Softball Association [NWSA].
The wheelchair softball team has consistently ranked within the top 10 teams in the country.
Participation in the softball program is open to any physically impaired individual (more specifically with an impairment of the spinal cord or lower extremity).
The participants in the program reside in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Harford County, Anne Arundel County, and other surrounding counties. The players' abilities and physical impairments are as different as their residences.
Baltimore City's Department of Recreation and Parks/Therapeutic Division and the Maryland Ravens are always seeking new softball players who are interested in competing locally and nationally. If you, or someone you know has a physical disability, lives in the Baltimore area, and would like to be considered as a participant in our athletic program, fax, write, call, or E-Mail us at:
